About Pulau Sapi

Pulau Sapi is one of the islands in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park in Sabah. The name means "cow island" in Malay. It is located to the southwest of Pulau Gaya and covers an area of 25 acre (10 hectares). It has one of the loveliest beaches in the national park and is a very popular destination for snorkelling and scuba diving.

Pulau Sapi can get quite crowded by day-trippers, but returns to its own serenity after the last ferry of the day departs at 4:00 pm. Visitors intending to overnight on the island should get permission from the park warden to set up camp and campfire.

The interior forest is inhabited by macaques who often go down to the shore to catch crabs. The macaques can get quite aggressive. They should never be fed. Keep an eye on your belongings when they are abound.

Pulau Sapi has a jetty, picnic shelters, barbecue pits, tables and toilets.
